The Tracker is the best tool for managing recurring tasks (like habits, reports, routines, studies). With the Tracker, you can regularly mark as done the same task, keeping your progress and staying motivated.
The Tracker supports both daily tasks and tasks that repeat several times a week on specific days. These repeating tasks will also be available in other views (marked with ), as well as on your personal dashboard and in notifications.
By default, the Tracker shows the current week, but you can flip through past and future weeks. Days when tasks need to be done will be highlighted. On the web portal SAU.app, the Tracker view includes a chart that shows the progress of repeating tasks for the entire year.
The task bar in most views displays icons that show whether the task has additional information or certain special properties:
There are links or files attached to the task. If you hover the cursor over this icon, the number of attachments will be displayed. If you click this icon, the task card will open on the attachments tab.
There is a checklist in the task. If you hover the cursor over this icon, the number of items in the checklist will be displayed. If you click this icon, the task card will be opened on the checklist tab.
The task has a description. If you click this icon, the task card will be opened on the description tab.
The task is recurring. If you tick such a task in the view as completed, it will be considered as completed only for today.
There is a chat in the task. The red dot next to this icon means that there are new unread messages.
There is a chat in the task, but notifications are disabled.
Each task in SAU has a specific indicator that allows you to quickly see the status of the task. The indicators take into account the deadline and the completion of the task. If the deadline for a task is today, the task is not considered overdue. If a future task is completed, it will be highlighted in green and will be considered completed. All indicators are updated on the fly and always show the actual information.
the task is marked as completed.
the task is marked as completed, but the deadline has not yet arrived.
the task is overdue: the due date has arrived, but the task is still not marked as completed.
Tasks that are displayed as red blocks on dashboards or highlighted in red in other views require attention and completion.
The "Tracker" view contains circles that are used to mark daily task completion and can come in different colors:
Light Gray : Indicates that you don't need to complete the task on that day. This might be because the task's schedule doesn't require daily completion or if you've selected a week when the task hasn't been created yet. You can still mark the task as completed if needed.
Green : Shows that the task has already been marked as completed on that day. If all the checkboxes are checked for a task, it means the task is fully completed and no longer tracked.
Gray : Allows you to mark the task as completed on that day. The task is still in progress, and its due date hasn't arrived yet.
Red : Indicates that the task's due date has passed, but it hasn't been marked as completed. You can either complete the task or reschedule it to a future date.
In every view, the field for selecting the task's due date and the task's checkbox are highlighted in a certain color: grey, red or green. This color corresponds to the task indicators and shows its current status. Of course, you should pay attention to all tasks marked in red, because they have not been completed on time.
Tasks in the Tracker are arranged in the same order as they were set in the List or Table views. However, only repeating tasks appear in the Tracker; other tasks aren't displayed in this view.
To change the order of tasks in the Tracker, you can switch to the List view and arrange them as desired there.
Completing a recurring task is no different from completing normal tasks — you can quickly do it in any view (not just in the tracker) or in the lists on your personal dashboard. To mark its completion, click on the circle to the left of the task and it will be marked as complete for the day!
Set a deadline with a single click. In any view, in the lists on the personal dashboard, even in the search view, you can always quickly pick a due date for a task (or remove it, or change it). To do this, click on the calendar or on the date under the task name and select the desired date from the calendar. You can do it even faster by picking one of the presets: Today, Tomorrow, Next Friday, etc.
You can pick an assignee in two clicks. In any view, you can quickly change the assignee of a task. All you have to do is click on the circle to the right of the task (there may be a user photo there) and select an assignee.
By default, the Tracker shows the current week only. You can navigate through weeks using buttons:
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and choose the 'Tracker' view
  3. Above the tracker on the right side, there are 3 buttons:
to go to the previous week
Now to return to the current week
to go to the next week
On the Tracker, view page you may see a chart for keeping progress of the daily completion of repeating tasks. The darker the green color of the cell , the more repeating tasks were completed that day. If the cell is white, then no tasks were completed on that day.
The chart shows every day of the year from the moment the first periodic task appeared in the project. This kind of analytics supports motivation – the more bright green squares you see, the more you'll want to continue, not stop.
You can filter the project's tasks by status, due date, and assignee. Filters inside the view allow you to work with only the tasks you need. We have kept the most popular filters:
  • All — shows all tasks in the project
  • Active (only grey tasks remain — tasks without a date or with a due date today or later)
  • Done (only green tasks remain — all tasks with a checkmark)
  • Overdue (only red tasks remain — all uncompleted tasks past their due date)
  • Without Deadline
  • Today (all tasks due today)
  • Next 7 Days (all tasks due within the next 7 days)
  • My Tasks (tasks where you are the assignee)
  • Not My Tasks (tasks with no assignee or an assignee who is not you)
After applying a filter, you cannot move tasks in the list. To change the order, select the 'All' filter.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and click Filter placed on the right under the task creation panel
  3. Choose one filter from the dropdown menu to leave only appropriate tasks
  4. To cancel the filtration, click 'By default'
If done tasks are hidden, they won't appear in the filter results. To enable search through the done tasks, make them visible using the appropriate button at the end of the task list.
You can temporarily reorder tasks inside your project by using the 'Sort' button in almost all views. This allows you to quickly arrange tasks in order based on certain criteria. Available sorting options include:
  • By status (done, overdue, in progress)
  • By task name
  • By due date
  • By assignee
  • By the number of attached files and links
After you apply a sort, you won't be able to move tasks around in the list. To change the order, select the 'By default' sort option.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and click Order placed in the right corner under the task creation panel
  3. In the dropdown menu, select a sorting parameter: tasks will be sorted in descending order based on that parameter
  4. Click on the parameter in the dropdown menu again to arrange the tasks in reverse - ascending - order
If done tasks are hidden in the project, they will also be hidden when sorting. Show them if necessary (using the button at the end of the task list) and repeat the sorting.
To find a task inside the projects (any view) use the search button in the right corner near the project name.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and click the search button to the right under the task creation panel
  3. In the search field that appears, type part of the task name – only tasks matching your search will be displayed on the screen
  4. To show all tasks again, click 'Cancel'
If done tasks are hidden, they won't appear in the search results. To enable search through the done tasks, make them visible using the appropriate button at the end of the task list.
Important! You can't change the order of tasks in the search results. To rearrange tasks, first, cancel the search.
