The calendar helps you easily keep track of when tasks are due, highlight key deadlines, and see how busy each day and person is. You can also quickly shift tasks around during the month.
It's great for projects where timing is key, like 'Workouts', 'University Classes', or 'Blog Articles'. SAU shows this month's calendar, by default, but you can look at other months too. On the web portal SAU.app, you can even switch views to see a whole month, just a week, or a single day.
In the Calendar, tasks are sorted by days based on their deadlines. Inside each day's cell, tasks are arranged in the same order as they are in the List or Table. You can't change the order of tasks within a day, but you can move a task to a different day by changing its due date.
Days with tasks are marked with red, grey, or green dots, just like task indicators. If there's even one overdue task on a day, that day gets a red dot. If all tasks are done on a certain day, the dot will be green.
Right now, you can't set specific times or durations for tasks or order them by the time they should be done during the day, but we're planning to add these features soon 💙
If a task in SAU doesn't have a due date, it won't show up on the Calendar. You can find these tasks in a special list called 'Tasks without deadline' in the Calendar. To view this list:
  1. Open the project panel and select the project
  2. Go to the 'Calendar' view, choosing it from the dropdown menu under the project name
  3. Tap the button in the top right corner
In the list, you'll see tasks without due dates. Here, you can mark any task as completed, change its assignee, or edit it. If you want, you can also set a due date for each task right under its name.
Each task is displayed as a separate row or pane in the view. The task always has a name and a checkbox to quickly mark it as completed. The color of the checkbox (or the circle) indicates the current status of the task. If the colour is red, the task has not been completed on time and needs attention. Click on the task name to open its full task card.
The line with the task also shows its due date. You can easily change the date by clicking on it and selecting another day in the calendar that opens.
To the right of the task name you can see a picture of the task's assignee. You can (almost always) change that too: a click on the picture will show the list of the project's team.
If the task has attachments, checklists, descriptions, etc., the corresponding icons will also be displayed here.
The task bar in most views displays icons that show whether the task has additional information or certain special properties:
There are links or files attached to the task. If you hover the cursor over this icon, the number of attachments will be displayed. If you click this icon, the task card will open on the attachments tab.
There is a checklist in the task. If you hover the cursor over this icon, the number of items in the checklist will be displayed. If you click this icon, the task card will be opened on the checklist tab.
The task has a description. If you click this icon, the task card will be opened on the description tab.
The task is recurring. If you tick such a task in the view as completed, it will be considered as completed only for today.
There is a chat in the task. The red dot next to this icon means that there are new unread messages.
There is a chat in the task, but notifications are disabled.
Each task in SAU has a specific indicator that allows you to quickly see the status of the task. The indicators take into account the deadline and the completion of the task. If the deadline for a task is today, the task is not considered overdue. If a future task is completed, it will be highlighted in green and will be considered completed. All indicators are updated on the fly and always show the actual information.
the task is marked as completed.
the task is marked as completed, but the deadline has not yet arrived.
the task is overdue: the due date has arrived, but the task is still not marked as completed.
Tasks that are displayed as red blocks on dashboards or highlighted in red in other views require attention and completion.
In every view, the field for selecting the task's due date and the task's checkbox are highlighted in a certain color: grey, red or green. This color corresponds to the task indicators and shows its current status. Of course, you should pay attention to all tasks marked in red, because they have not been completed on time.
A task can be completed with a single click in any view. All you have to do is click on the circle to the left of the task and it will be marked as complete!
The task's completion status can be reversed with a single click. Find a completed task in any view — in a ToDo list, on the Dashboard, through search, etc. Then just click on the check mark to the left of the task and it will become active again!
Completing a recurring task is no different from completing normal tasks — you can quickly do it in any view (not just in the tracker) or in the lists on your personal dashboard. To mark its completion, click on the circle to the left of the task and it will be marked as complete for the day!
You can pick an assignee in two clicks. In any view, you can quickly change the assignee of a task. All you have to do is click on the circle to the right of the task (there may be a user photo there) and select an assignee.
The task can be deleted via the task card or by simply swiping to the left in the project view. Read more about deleting in the Archive and Bin article.
Important: Only the project owner, the task owner or the assignee can delete a task.
You can filter the project's tasks by status, due date, and assignee. Filters inside the view allow you to work with only the tasks you need. We have kept the most popular filters and organized them into blocks, so you can combine them:
  • All — shows all tasks in the project
  • Status Block
  • Active (only grey tasks remain — tasks without a date or with a due date today or later)
  • Done (only green tasks remain — all tasks with a checkmark)
  • Overdue (only red tasks remain — all uncompleted tasks past their due date)
  • Deadline Block
  • Without Deadline
  • Today (all tasks due today)
  • Next 7 Days (all tasks due within the next 7 days)
  • Assignee Block
  • My Tasks (tasks where you are the assignee)
  • Not My Tasks (tasks with no assignee or an assignee who is not you)
After applying a filter, you cannot move tasks in the list. To change the order, select the 'All' filter.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and just below the project name, notice a row of buttons
  3. Tap, for example, Overdue and you will see only tasks with red status
  4. Tap again by the filter name button, and the filter will be canceled
If done tasks are hidden, they won't appear in the filter results. To enable search through the done tasks, make them visible using the appropriate button at the end of the task list.
To find a task inside the projects (any view) use the search button in the right corner near the project name.
  1. Open the project panel and select a project
  2. Open the project and tap the search button to the right of the project name
  3. In the search field that appears, type part of the task name – only tasks matching your search will be displayed on the screen
  4. To show all tasks again, click 'Cancel'
If done tasks are hidden, they won't appear in the search results. To enable search through the done tasks, make them visible using the appropriate button at the end of the task list.
Important! You can't change the order of tasks in the search results. To rearrange tasks, first, cancel the search.
